Embark on an unforgettable 10-day Cambodia tour that takes you from the vibrant streets of Phnom Penh to the ancient wonders of Angkor and the charming countryside of Battambang. Arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport. After immigration and customs formalities, meet with the guide. Transfer to the city center and check-in at the hotel. Free time to relax or to explore the city on your own without guide or driver. Overnight at the hotel. Check-in time is from 14:00.
After breakfast, departure for the village of Prek Bongkong, a Silk Village located along the banks of the Mekong River. Board a ferry to reach the opposite side of the river. Visit the Tiger Prawn Pagoda, the most beautiful in the village, and the house of Mrs. Naysim to observe her silk processing workshop (active for three generations). On the way back to Phnom Penh, a stop is scheduled at a primary school.
In the afternoon, visit the capital. The tour starts with the Royal Palace, including the Silver Pagoda which was built in 1866 during the French protectorate of King Norodom, followed by the National Museum, built by King Sisowath in 1920. Overnight at the hotel.
Departure by bus to Kompong Cham (about 120 km). Kompong Cham is one of the most populated provinces in Cambodia. Along the way, visit Phnom Proh and Phnom Srey hills, the Wat Nokhor temple (12th century), and the colonial town with its beautiful market.
Continue the journey to Kompong Thom (about 150 km). Stop at the Wat Kohar Nokor temple and the stone carving workshops, then visit the Angkorian tower in Phum Prasat. Arrival in Kompong Thom in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, depart for Siem Reap (3.5 - 4 hours). Take a boat excursion on Tonle Sap Lake to visit a typical floating village. During the cruise, between August and December when the water level is higher, there will be an opportunity to switch boats. You will board a small sampan to admire the mangroves (approximately 30 minutes).
In the afternoon, visit Apopo, an NGO dedicated to mine clearance. Thanks to the careful training of rats to detect landmines, Apopo is slowly helping restore safety and normalcy to the Cambodian countryside. Overnight at the hotel in Siem Reap.
Note: The visit to Apopo lasts about one hour.
In the morning, visit Angkor Thom: the South Gate, the spectacular Bayon Temple with its enigmatic smiling faces, the temple of the legend of the king and the serpent, Phimeanakas, the area of the former Royal Palace, and the splendid Terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King.
Continue by tuk-tuk to the most beautiful temple of the Small Circuit: Ta Prohm (the Kingdom of Trees), famous for the unique atmosphere created by trees growing through the ruins and the surrounding jungle - a magical sight for all visitors.
In the afternoon, explore the majestic Angkor Wat, the most famous and celebrated monument in the entire complex. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its towers and bas-reliefs offer a breathtaking vision of Khmer architectural genius.
End the day with a visit to Theam's House, a private art gallery - a peaceful oasis filled with refined works of Cambodian contemporary art. Return to the hotel for overnight.
After breakfast, depart to visit Banteay Srei (Citadel of Women), dedicated to Shiva and renowned for its pink sandstone carvings - a masterpiece of Khmer art. Continue to Banteay Samre, a Hindu temple built in the architectural style of Angkor Wat. Stop at the Butterfly Park.
The tour continues with a visit to the Angkor National Museum and to Pre Rup, the most beautiful temple of the Grand Circuit. Built in 960 AD as the state temple of King Rajendravarman II, it is a “temple-mountain” constructed with a mix of brick, laterite, and sandstone. At the end of the day, enjoy a relaxing foot massage.
In the evening, enjoy a romantic dinner accompanied by a traditional Apsara dance show. Overnight at the hotel.
Depart by bus to visit Beng Mealea Temple, located 60 km from Siem Reap. Built in the 11th century by King Jayavarman VII, this temple is one of the most mysterious in the Angkor region. Visit Chantie Elole and the old market.
Continue to Koh Ker, a vast archaeological site that was once the ancient capital of Chok Garjar. The highlight is Prasat Thom, a majestic seven-tiered pyramid surrounded by jungle.
Return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, depart by car for Battambang (170 km - about 3 hours), the second-largest city in Cambodia and known for its elegant colonial architecture. En route, stop at the Angkor Silk Farm and try the local “star cake” (Khmer name: Nom Phkay).
Upon arrival in Battambang, enjoy an exciting ride on the “Bamboo Train” - a small wooden platform powered by a motor, once used by farmers to transport goods from rural areas to the city (speed up to 40 km/h).
Next, visit the Khor Sang House, a traditional wooden home from the late 19th century filled with unique collectibles. In the late afternoon, explore the local market in Battambang.
Check in and overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, depart for Phnom Penh (approximately 290 km - around 5 hours), passing through scenic rural landscapes with vast rice fields and coconut palms, where locals live in traditional stilt houses. En route, enjoy a boat trip to visit the floating village of Kompong Loung.
Continue to Oudong, the former capital of Cambodia from the 17th to the 19th century, and visit one of the most beautiful pagodas in the country. Arrival in Phnom Penh, check-in and overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time for personal activities until transfer to the airport for your return flight.
