The national currency of Thailand is the "Thai Baht" (BTH).

As in most countries, the most popular and stable currency for exchange is the US dollar. Traveler's checks usually offer a better exchange rate than cash. Recently, Visa/Mastercard credit cards have become the most common payment method in hotels and large stores. In addition, in major cities, you'll find ATMs everywhere that accept various credit cards.

For reference, 1 US dollar is approximately worth 30 BTH.
