This morning, right after breakfast, you will begin your exploration of Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of a Million Elephants. Your city tour starts with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum. Next, you will visit Huan Chuan Heritage House, where you can admire the architectural charm of the building and learn about its historical connections with the Royal Palace.
You will then continue visiting temples, starting with the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, known for its unique roof, an example of the classic Lan Xang-style architecture. Today, you will also visit the beautiful Wat Mai and the stupa of Wat Visoun. Afterward, you will go to the Arts and Ethnology Center to learn more about the ethnic minorities of Laos and their customs and traditions.
In the afternoon, you will explore Ban Xienglek Village, famous for its excellent textile and handicraft work. To end the day beautifully, you will climb to the top of Mount Phousi for a pleasant exploration of the golden stupa and enjoy a spectacular view of the city and the Mekong River at sunset. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
The first activity of the day is a visit to Phousi Market, a local bazaar where you will find a wide variety of goods for sale. After visiting the market, you will head to the spectacular and famous Kuang Si Waterfalls. Near the waterfall, it is also possible to visit the Bear Rescue Center, an organization that protects a particular species of Asian bear.
After lunch, you will board a boat for a cruise on the Mekong River. After approximately two hours of sailing along the majestic Mekong, you will visit the Pak Ou Caves. These two caves, connected by a forest trail, are unique as they house thousands of golden Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes, which have been left here by pilgrims since the 14th century.
On the way back, we will stop at Ban Muangkeo Village, known for its textile craftsmanship and traditional rice whiskey production. Overnight at the hotel.
This morning, around 08:00 AM, we will begin our journey to the town of Xieng Khuang, famous for its Plain of Jars. The route we will take today is considered one of the highlights of the country, offering unique natural landscapes. Along the way, we will stop at several ethnic minority villages that inhabit this region.
Our first stop will be at Houi Hei, where you can enjoy an extraordinary viewpoint. Continuing the journey, we will visit Ban KiuKam Pone, a Khmu village.
After lunch, we will resume our journey toward Xieng Khuang, reaching the highest point in Laos, at 1,500 meters above sea level. The next stop will be Ban Son Boom, an interesting Hmong village.
The last stop of the day will be a visit to a Buddha Cave, which served as a shelter for the local population during the Vietnam War against bombings.
We will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
We will begin our day with a visit to the fascinating MAG exhibition.
Next, we will head to the old capital of Muang Khoun. Afterward, we will visit Site 2 of the Plain of Jars before continuing to Site 3.
In the afternoon, we will explore Site 1, the largest in the area, which contains over 300 jars.
We will return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
We will start our day with a visit to the colorful Central Market of Phonsavan.
Afterward, we will depart for the town of Vang Vieng.
After lunch, we will stop at Ban Hin Ngon, an interesting Hmong village. Our next stop will be at the Koe Kuang market, a local market where various types of reptiles are sold.
The last stop of the day will be at Phatang Mountain viewpoint, offering breathtaking landscapes.
We will arrive in Vang Vieng in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, we will visit an organic farm, where you will board a traditional boat to navigate along the Nam Song River, enjoying the adventure and the magnificent surrounding landscape.
After disembarking, we will explore the famous Tham Jang Cave, which was used as a hiding place by locals during the Chinese invasion.
Then, we will continue southward to reach Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
We will arrive in Vientiane in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will start your city tour with a visit to Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple in Vientiane, home to thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Next, you will explore Wat Prakeo, which once housed the famous Emerald Buddha.
You will then visit one of Laos’ most important cultural landmarks, the sacred That Luang Stupa, followed by a stop at the impressive Patuxay Monument, also known as the Arc de Triomphe of Laos.
The tour continues with a visit to COPE, a rehabilitation center that supports victims of unexploded ordnance (UXO) from the Vietnam War, a serious ongoing issue in Laos.
Your final visit will be to the Buddha Park, located about 30 minutes outside the city along the Mekong River. Here, you will admire a fascinating collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures.
The day ends with a stunning sunset over the Mekong River. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will have free time at your leisure.
Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Vientiane Airport for your return flight.
