During your summer getaway in Laos, you will have the chance to explore Luang Prabang, a timeless city with spectacular temples and stunning French colonial architecture; cruise along the Nam Song River and enjoy the adventure and breathtaking landscapes of Vang Vieng; and discover the tranquil capital of Vientiane, home to the famous Wat Sisaket pagoda. All of this makes for an unforgettable summer holiday!
Arrive at Vientiane International Airport. After immigration formalities, meet your Asiatica guide. Transfer to the city center and check in at the hotel. Free time to rest or explore the city independently without a guide or driver. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, begin your city tour with a visit to Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple in Vientiane, home to thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Continue to Wat Prakeo, formerly the royal temple that once housed the famous Emerald Buddha.
Next, visit one of Laos' most revered cultural landmarks, the sacred That Luang Stupa, followed by a stop at the imposing Patuxay Monument, also known as the Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane.
The tour then takes you to COPE, a rehabilitation center for victims of unexploded ordnance (UXO) dropped over Laos during the Vietnam War. Even today, UXO remains one of the country’s biggest challenges.
The final stop is the Buddha Park, located about 30 minutes from the city along the banks of the Mekong River. Here, you can admire an intriguing collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures. End the day with a stunning sunset by the Mekong River.

After breakfast, depart north along National Route 13 towards Vang Vieng, a journey of approximately four hours from the capital. Upon arrival, visit an organic farm, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch (not included) with a scenic view of the Nam Song River.
In the early afternoon, board a traditional boat and cruise along the Nam Song River, taking in the breathtaking landscapes and enjoying the adventure. After disembarking, explore the famous Tham Jang Cave, once used by locals as a hideout during the Chinese invasion.

Early this morning, depart for Luang Prabang, a journey that offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes - so be sure to have your camera ready.
Your first stop will be at the Phatang Mountain viewpoint, followed by a visit to the Koe Kuang local market, where you’ll find unique products such as rodents, various insects, snakes, and reptiles of all kinds. Next, continue to Phou Phueng Fa, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Laos, where you will also have the opportunity to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, resume your journey with a stop at Ban Kiu Kam Pone, a Khmu ethnic village, where you will have the chance to interact with one of the most distinctive minority groups in the region.
Your final stop before reaching Luang Prabang will be at Houi Hei, offering another spectacular mountain view.
Arrive in Luang Prabang in the early afternoon, with the rest of the day at your leisure.

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of a Million Elephants. For centuries, this charming town was one of the most important centers of Buddhist culture in the region. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, Luang Prabang still preserves its timeless atmosphere, with its stunning temples and beautiful French colonial buildings.
This morning, start your city tour with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, where you’ll gain insight into the daily life of the last royal families of Laos before the Pathet Lao took power. Next, visit the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, known for its elegant multi-tiered roof - one of the finest examples of classical Lao architecture. You will also visit Wat Mai and the Wat Visoun stupa before heading to the Arts and Ethnology Centre, where you’ll learn more about Laos’ ethnic minorities, their customs, and traditions.
After lunch, embark on a boat trip along the Mekong River to visit the famous Pak Ou Caves, two interconnected caves that house thousands of golden Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes, left by pilgrims over centuries.
On the way back, stop at Ban Muangkeo, a village known for its traditional textile craftsmanship and Lao rice whisky production.

Early this morning, experience Tak Bat, the Buddhist monks’ alms-giving ceremony - an ancient ritual still practiced in Luang Prabang. Afterward, visit a local market before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
The first stop of the day is Phousi Market, a vibrant local bazaar where you’ll find a variety of items for sale, including dried buffalo skin, local tea, fresh vegetables, and textiles from ethnic tribes. Next, visit the Ock Pop Tok village, where you will learn about the traditional silk-making process, from silkworms to the final woven product.
Later, head to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfalls, located about 30 km from Luang Prabang. These breathtaking turquoise waterfalls are a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to the region. Enjoy a walk through the lush forest and take the opportunity to swim in one of the natural pools.
Near the waterfalls, visit the Bear Rescue Center, a sanctuary dedicated to protecting the endangered Asiatic black bear from poaching. Before returning to the city, stop at the Butterfly Park, where you can admire beautiful butterfly species and learn about their fascinating life cycle.
Tip: Bring a towel if you plan to swim in the natural pools.
