Overview

A Vietnam itinerary 10 days from North to South will take you through all the most famous cities in the country. You will discover the cultural diversity of each region of Vietnam. Hanoi is a land where the past and modernity intertwine, with a slower pace of life. The ancient capital Hue lies peacefully on the banks of the romantic Perfume River. The charming town of Hoi An enchants with its yellow-walled houses and colorful lanterns. Saigon presents a completely different vibe: vibrant and fast-paced, with a more dynamic rhythm of life. Continue to the Ethnology Museum, which offers an excellent introduction to the 54 ethnic groups that make up the country.

Next, visit the Temple of Literature (built in 1070), dedicated to Confucius and scholars (Vietnam’s first national university, established in 1076), and the Hoa Lo Prison (a significant site from the Vietnam War).

In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the Old Quarter, also known as the 36 Streets. This area is a maze of alleys, each named after a trade or craft. The tour is designed to explore all aspects of local life. You will also have the chance to taste Hanoi's famous egg coffee. The tour ends with a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as the Lake of the Returned Sword, and a visit to Ngoc Son Temple. Overnight at a hotel in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi - Halong Bay

After breakfast, departure for Halong Bay (Vịnh Hạ Long). Along the way, enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Arrival in Halong late in the morning and boarding the junk boat for a cruise in the bay. During the cruise, visit caves made mysterious by many local legends. Delicious meals featuring fish and seafood will be served on board. Overnight on board - private cabin in the comfort category.

Note: The mini-cruise itinerary may vary depending on the type of junk used and sea conditions. The guide on board will speak English.

Day 4: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Danang - Hoi An

In the morning, after breakfast, we leave the junk and board small sampans (traditional boats) for a visit to the famous caves or to enjoy a refreshing swim on one of the beautiful, deserted beaches. Brunch will be served on board. Late morning, return to the pier.

After leaving Halong Bay, transfer to Hanoi airport for the flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to your hotel in Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An.

Note: The program depends on the junk used and the sea conditions - shared English/French-speaking guide on board.

Day 5: Hoi An - Fish & Ships Tour - City Visit

Meet your guide at the hotel for a boat excursion to Cam Nam. After boarding, we sail towards Cua Dai, a sand dune area, where you can observe fishermen casting their nets. The trip continues to Cam Thanh - the coconut village - where you will hear a brief story about its history. Along the "Coconut Tree River," you’ll have the chance to catch crabs with a local fisherman, listen to traditional songs, and learn how musical instruments are made from coconuts.

In the afternoon, visit the ancient town: Chuc Thanh Pagoda - the oldest pagoda in Hoi An (1454), built by a Chinese monk. Continue with the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Chinese Temple, Phung Hung Ancient House, and nearby villages. The tour also includes a visit to the market and the port.

Day 6: Hoi An - Da Nang - Hue

After breakfast, transfer to Hue via the scenic Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Clouds).

Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 to 1945), is known as “the city of peace and poetry,” attracting visitors with the romantic charm of its historical monuments. Upon arrival at the local Dong Ba Market, you will gain insight into the daily life of the locals. Visit the The Imperial City of Hue.

The tour continues with a visit to Thien Mu Pagoda (also known as the Pagoda of the Celestial Lady). The day ends with a visit to the Tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, a complex of over 40 structures (palaces, pavilions, temples, etc.).

Overnight at a hotel.

Day 7: Hue - Saigon

After breakfast, transfer to Hue airport for the flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel.

In the afternoon, visit the War Remnants Museum, which denounces the American aggression in Vietnam. It features very raw and symbolic photographs, as well as a rich collection of weapons and war remnants, including fighter planes displayed in the courtyard. Afterwards, visit the Cathedral, the Central Post Office, and finally Ben Thanh Market. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 8: Saigon - Ben Tre - Can Tho

After breakfast, depart for Ben Tre - the coconut capital of Vietnam. Arrival at Hung Vuong pier. A short transfer by local boat will take us through narrow canals. During the cruise, we will observe lively local activities, river fishing, and the functioning of the irrigation canals.

Visit a traditional brick kiln to see the brick-making and firing process.

Then, visit a family-run coconut candy workshop and another producing straw mats.

The excursion continues with a bicycle or tuk-tuk ride through the surrounding countryside. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to the pier for a short rowing boat ride. Transfer to Can Tho. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 9: Can Tho - Saigon

Early in the morning, visit the Cai Rang floating market. The scene before your eyes is authentic and emotional, with many sampans loaded with rice, fruits, and handcrafted products gathering to trade or sell their goods. Getting to know the local people offers insight into their daily lives and introduces you to many lively and traditional activities.

The excursion continues with a visit to the lush orchard of Mr. Tu Dung, the ancient Binh Thuy house (where the film The Lover was shot), and the Khmer pagoda. Afterwards, leave Can Tho and return to Saigon. Upon arrival, check-in and overnight stay at the hotel.
